Missed Cut prizes

2 missed cuts Mike Cole and Matthew Cole (not related)
3 or more missed Alex schiff
I make that 32 separate winners.
These are all shown on the website
Very well done to Paul Lawson who swept home in our contest by 4 shots with an incredible demonstration of great hole selection.
I have announced a few of the prizes already but I will summarise here again shortly and send the details in an email later this evening.
Thanks everybody for participating. As always the real winner is the Marie Curie charity.
With last pair approaching the green it's congratulations to Collin Morikawa. Majestic iron play and consistent scoring.
He was in the lead from early on and stayed there - 19 bogies. Now ranked at 991st out of 1008
Alex Wiles and Smiffy had 24 birdies each. They were beaten by Paul Lawson and Jeremy Redgewell but those two are in line for bigger prizes on the main table
Duncan Synchronicity XXX has come through today with 16 pars out of 16 holes and has a lead of 2. He can't be caught. Well done Duncan.
That birdie on 14 from Jon RAHM is great news for Max Worth. It takes him to 9 under today and in the lead by himself for the Sunday prize. Hard to see anyone catching him now.
He has completed his 18 holes - even more incredible that he has done this without picking any of the leaders!
He has a very big hand on the Claret jug (sort of)
Max Worth is now 8 under today - lining up for that Sunday prize.
Ed Voss has two holes left from RAHM and I see one goes in for birdie - that puts him in a lead for the 1 Missed Cut table
I see Jenny Voss (I assume related) is also 2nd in the 3+ Missed Cuts table.
Last 20% of the day's play. Will Oosthuizen get a grip on his swing? What magic has Spieth left? Will Morikawa keep his cool?
Paul Lawson is nearly in the clubhouse, just LOWRY to come on the 17th.
Bake Bellot joins Lee Giles in the hunt for the Sunday prize.
Out of bounds for Macintyre on the but he taps in for single bogey. Great recovery and relief for Gabe Graham - the only person backing the Scot on that hole.
Ollie Monk climbs back to joint 2nd with a 4 under round today. John Howells (1 &2) is still up there. Is Carol Bellamy showing hubby how its done? Oh John, first the dog, now the missus!
Matthew Cole is leading the race for the entries with 2 missed cut golfers, but Neil Sillick has 7 holes left to catch up a stroke.
Lawson is by far the best at picking holes - over the tournament and indeed today.
But today Monty and Jack Bamford picked the best golfers.
Richard Watts has the best golfers over the 6 rounds - KOEPKA, SPIETH, MORIKAWA, OOSTHUIZEN, FLEETWOOD, FINAU. That is a great selection - 1st, 2nd, tied 3rd, tied 5th, 15th and tied 34th. Incredible. Unfortunately his hole selection was bottom quartile.
Darren has been leading the bogey charge for a while and he retains a 2 bogey lead with 19
Paul Lawson has an incredible 30 birdies - the next best is Jeremy Redgewell with 22. He is the one to catch
Ben Gilbert is leading the Par contest with 55
Lee Giles is also 7 under today from a completely different set of players. He shares the lead for the Sunday prize but assuming that Paul wins the big prize, he could win it outright.
Now we get the see the table, Paul has opened up an amazing 5 shot lead. I did have to check to make sure it wasn't another glitch.
It seems that once you get a good hole it repeats. Paul got 4 out of 4 birdies from DeCHAMBEAU on the 14th, 3 out of 4 from DeCHAMBEAU (7th), 3 out of 4 from MCILROY (9th) and 3 out of 4 from FINAU (13th) and 3 out of 3 from LOWRY (17th). Incredible.
I guess the other question is what happened to Paul's no.2 entry - it seems there isn't one.
Ok I believe we are back up - apologies for the delay
Apologies, the scores appear to have stopped coming through - looking into that
Please ignore everything I said in my email earlier today regarding the Saturday prize. And also apologies for raising excitement levels for Paul Lawson, Jack Jack, Brian O'Connor, Gavin Dixon, Katherine Laidler and Sara Findlay.
Your 5 under par was actually beaten by Mcgann, Kevin Mccarthy 1 and Hank Millar after we excluded the missed cut bogies. (Kevin) McGann is actually down in 617th place - nice to see the prize money going down the table a bit.
I see that Hank was also joint best for Thursday but had a less good day on Friday and lost Patrick REED to the cut. Hank can only win 1 prize so that is likely very good news for the other Thursday winners!
Apologies, there is an error on the Tables for Saturday and Sunday. Looking into it now.
err ...off to a flyer (?) on Sunday with 3 birdies from DECHAMBEAU (2) and SCHAUFFELE
And Paul Lawson has secured yet another birdie to go top of our leaderboard on 16 under.
Geoff Doranasteros and Shaun Murphy 2 have the best 6 golfers so far (a total of 40 under par). Shaun is 2 under today.
It was an amazing day yesterday. We watched the first drive off the first and saw the last putt on the 18th and we think we saw all the golfers at some stage in between. It was a proper summer’s day with clear blue skies and blistering sunshine. I am not used to that much direct sunshine and I am a bit afraid to look in the mirror this morning to see my patch work of red skin. We left home at 4.30am in the morning and arrived back home just before midnight so it was a really long day but a great experience. What an amazing golf course. As always, after seeing how easy the game is, I am looking forward to getting out on to the golf course to shoot a really low score!
This is a big putt for Ollie Monk - looking for the Friday prize. Can Westie 3-putt from 12 feet?
No, it's a birdie and makes Olly 11 under for the day - a 59! Amazing. Lowest round ever in these competitions I am sure.
Birdies everywhere
Ollie Monk goes 10 under today and has a share of the lead in the overall table with 5 others on 12 under.
Nick Fitz is winning the Par contest with 32
The Bogey contest is still between Darren and Paul and the Birdie contest is wide open .
Richard Watts has the best 6 so far - his 6 are -39 but sadly he is down in 157th
About 61% of holes have been played so far, though some have yet to tee off.
But Darren Fogden is approaching the clubhouse. He has 14 bogeys along with Paul Winter but with no help from ZALATORIS. Darren was 997th yesterday and 972nd today. That's what golf is all about - consistency!
People at Waverton know what that means!
Will Bateman is the first to get to 10 under and is leading on his own. At the other end of the table, Sylvia Murray and Niall Ruane are both at 10 over. Never mind, all is not lost. There are prizes to be had for people who lose multiples players to the cut.
John Howells is up with the leaders on 9 under and John Howells 2 is also in joint 5th on 8 under.
We have a 3-way tie at the top on 9 under between Jeremy Redgewell, Matthew Humphrey and Jo Woodham. Jo is an incredible 5 under today and is in a share of the lead for the Friday contest with Matt Parky, Ollie Monk and Smiffy.
Eileen 'Bubba' Berkeley is leading the Par contest - not sure she knows what a par is though.
Hj1 is leading the Birdie table with 11
Paul Winter is leading the Bogeys table - thanks to ZALATORIS!
And my random entry is doing really well - I am 974th
The good news is for Pamela Tierney and Superjed! as they picked Corey CONNERS on the 14th - he scored an eagle.
Now for the BAD news. Will ZALATORIS has sadly withdrawn from the Open before teeing off for his 2nd round. I am afraid that means (under the stated rules of this competition) that he will score bogeys for the remainder of the tournament for 33 people. That's really unlucky. Those scores haven't gone in yet but brace yourselves.
Keep an eye on HORSCHEL who also seemed unwell on the course and appeared to blame Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes in his post round interview - 5 people have him.
Hank Miller edges into top spot as Jeremy drops a shot.
Meanwhile Jamessully and Stella Walter are leading the race for the Friday prize on 3 under today
Bad luck to Rob Jones. - the only person to have picked the Italian on this hole. Watch the clip of the hole on our twitter feed @jeffkeencharity (obviously Rob might not want to watch)
Jeremy Redgewell goes to the of the leaderboard with 2 quick birdies from FINAU and FITZPATRICK.
Janet Rocastle has a share of the lead in the Par contest with 19
The table is now active on the site. Dave Carroll and Jack Bamford (of Windlesham Golf Club and at St George's today) are 2 under. Both are beneficiaries of Tony FINAU's early run of good holes.
Jaktipple gets the first birdie of the day from Jazz JANEWATTANANOND on the par 3 3rd hole. That moves him from 401st to 239th, shooting up the table. Jazz just birdied the next hole too. Jack has him on the 5th.
Ouch! Jason DAY double bogeys the 1st hole - that hurt 5 people.
There are a few golfers out there but none that will affect our competition. So that means we have a crazy 8-way tie for the Thursday prize. Mark Bantock, Matthew Humphrey 1, Hank Miller Tom Jarvis, DebsMorriss, Andrew Naylor, Will Bateman, Keith Bloodworth all scored 7 under. However, remember that you can win only 1 prize so some of these people might go on to win larger prizes, making the pool smaller.
Darren Fogden and Pat Martin are leading the Bogey competition with 8
Alex Mills incredibly had 18 pars - I think they call that Faldo golf. He leads the Par contest obviously.
Bubble2 notched up 9 birdies and leads that contest. Unfortunately a bogey and double bogey to go with them.
Gaston47, Paulharness2 and Jason Keen picked the best 6 golfers. The first two are in 9th place, Jason is in 128th – that’s poor hole selection folks.
Looking forward to Round 2
A struggle for Rory but that birdie on the last helped 36 people and more importantly helps Rory stay for the weekend.
Pat Martin has notched up 6 bogies today and is down at the foot of the table 4 over par. But she might be hoping for more bogeys from here to secure that prize.
Elsewhere just 7 were lucky enough to get one of those eagles.
As we approach the end of the first round with just a few holes to play for most, will Mark Bantock, Matthew Humphrey or Hank Miller manage to squeeze yet another birdie to take the Thursday prize? Tom Jarvis has been in the clubhouse for a while, looking back anxiously
Bubble2 is leading the birdie contest with 9 birdies. Unfortunately Lucas HERBERT scored a double on the 1st for him. He is in the clubhouse.
Tony Fernley is in the clubhouse (played all 18 holes) and scored 17 pars - he is leading that table.
7 under is a fantastic score. Joan Berkeley (luck of the Irish) is up there again on 6 under - lucky family. Or is it skill?
Early golfers are coming in now - almost 5 hours to get round.
Tom Jarvis launches himself into a 2 shot lead with 5 birdies - obviously he now leads the race to that prize as well as the prize for Thursday. Long way to go though Tom, stay cool.
Remember there is a prize for the most number of bogeys (not including those for missed cuts). Link to the table on the site menu. 5 people have already notched up 3 .
.....and we have a new leader on 4 under too - Flan2 (Steve Flanagan)
Jon RAHM is backed by 64% of entries and the most backed hole is him on the 1st - about 24% of people have him on that hole. He survived with a par.
Simon Cowan is leading the table on his own at 3 under thanks to 2 birdies from HOVLAND and another from KOEPKA. Only 4 holes played! Great start.
We have birdies for Hovland and Casey on the 1st which moves a number of people up to joint 1st on 1 under.
Bit of a delay getting our scoring kicked off but the table is now updating - enjoy the day.
Richard Bland tees off at Royal St George's. He won his first professional tournament this year at the age of 48 at the Belfry. Hope for us all.
The Open is back. Something special about the first tee shot at the Open amongst a sparse crowd, hitting into a low sun.
Thanks very much for entering!
I know there were some challenges getting through the payment screens on the site so well done for persisting. We have over 1000 entries which means that we will raise £4,415 for the Marie Curie Foundation. Thanks to Waverton for their £2,000 additional donation.
It looks like we are going to get nice weather over the weekend, though of course wind is going to be factor on the amazing links course at St George’s. I was there the year that Darren Clarke won and we were almost blown off the grandstands. I am looking forward to seeing a different type of golf this weekend.
By the time you read this, the site should be up to date and reflecting your entries. More of the tables will become visible as we go through the weekend.
We have a few new prizes this time. For those that are unlucky enough to lose golfers to the cut, there will still be a chance to win some cash. See the Prizes page on the website.
At this point I would like to thank Ed Blake, Owen Basey and Gareth Repton in the Waverton IT development team for all the work they have put it into automating the scoring on the website. It will make a huge difference for me and I think you are going to see much more prompt updates.
Naturally we will try to keep you entertained with updates on the site and on our twitter feed. I am looking forward to going to St George’s on Saturday so we will be featuring “Jeff & Jason on the course” updates. Make sure you follow @jeffkeencharity on twitter for that. #JeffKeenCharityChallenge
